        🔒 The short version: Your journal entries stay on your device and in your personal iCloud account. We don't collect or sell your data. If you use our AI features, relevant text is securely processed by Moonshot AI but is not used for AI training.
      

What data does Good Happens collect?

None. Good Happens does not collect any personal data, usage analytics, or tracking information. We do not use any third-party analytics services.

Where is my data stored?

All your journal entries, photos, and settings are stored:

Locally on your device — Your data lives in the app's private storage on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
In your personal iCloud account (if enabled) — If you use iCloud sync, your data is synchronized through Apple's CloudKit service using your own iCloud account. We do not have access to your iCloud data.

Third-party services

Good Happens uses the following Apple services:

Apple CloudKit / iCloud — For syncing your data across your own devices. Apple's privacy policy applies to this service.
Apple StoreKit — For processing in-app purchases. Payment information is handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details.
Stepfun AI (阶跃星辰大模型) — Used exclusively for the "Star Map" feature to extract keywords from your journal entries. Text data sent to Stepfun is processed ephemerally solely for this purpose and is neither retained nor used for AI training.

人工智能 (AI) 功能

Some features in Good Happens, such as the "Star Map", use advanced language models to process your text. When you use these specific AI features:

The text of your relevant journal entries is securely transmitted to our third-party AI provider, Moonshot AI (阶跃星辰), strictly for the purpose of generating the requested feature (e.g., extracting keywords).
We only send the text necessary for the feature to work. We do not send your device identifiers or personal contact information.
The AI provider acts strictly as a data processor. According to their API terms, data submitted is not used to train their foundation models.

If you do not use the AI-powered features, your data never leaves your device or your personal iCloud account.

Advertising

Good Happens contains no advertisements and does not use any ad tracking or IDFA.

Children's privacy

Good Happens does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Since we don't collect any data at all, this is inherently satisfied.

Photos and camera

Good Happens may request access to your camera or photo library to let you attach photos to journal entries. Photos you select are stored only on your device and in your iCloud account. They are never uploaded to our servers (we don't have servers).

Notifications

Good Happens may send you local reminders to write your daily entry, but only if you explicitly enable this feature. These notifications are scheduled locally on your device and do not involve any external service.

Data deletion

You can delete any journal entry at any time within the app. To delete all data, simply delete the app from your device. If you use iCloud sync, you can also manage your iCloud storage through your device's Settings.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change this privacy policy, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above. Since we don't collect your email or contact information, this page is the primary way to communicate changes.
